She received her undergraduate education in the University College Dublin (UCD), Dublin, Ireland. She pursued her postgraduate studies in the Masters in Internal Medicine and subsequently completed her Endocrine Fellowship Training at the Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM) in 2008.

She is currently a Consultant Endocrinologist and Deputy Dean (Postgraduate & Professional Training), at the Faculty of Medicine, Universiti Teknologi MARA (UiTM). She is actively involved in the teaching of both undergraduate and postgraduate programs within the faculty. She provides endocrine services including the running of the Endocrine Clinic and the Weight Management Clinic at the UiTM Medical Centre, with keen interest in bariatric surgery. She is also actively involved in research, particularly in the areas of diabetes and obesity. She has supervised Masters and PhD students in the areas of gestational diabetes mellitus which has led to her involvement as a committee member for the Clinical Practice Guideline (CPG) for Gestational Diabetes 2017. She has served as Primary Investigators to many national and international research grants. She is also a member of the Research Ethics Committee of UiTM.
